The 2 p.m. benefit show at The Yorktown Stage on Jan. 21 is to benefit Izzy’s Infantry Fighting Pediatric Cancer and Spinal Trauma, according to a statement from the event's planners, the Street Beatz Dance Studio.
Dancers from Street Beatz are expected to perform along with Dance Expression, Star Struck Dance Studio, The Pulse Performing Arts Studio and Spotlight Studios of Performing Arts, according to Street Beatz’ statement.
Izzy’s Infantry was founded last year in honor of Isabel “Izzy Warrior Princess” Rita, a girl born in 2013 who continues to battle cancer, according to the organization's Facebook page. The nonprofit's goal is to fund research that will lead to better treatment options for children fighting the disease.
Anyone interested in purchasing a ticket to the event should email Alexis Menendez, Street Beatz owner, at streetbeatzagainstcancer@gmail.com.
Tickets also will be available at the door, organizers said.
